David Walliams dropped by book publisher.
Best-selling young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, the company has said.
An official for the publisher commented: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the conclusion was made after an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards young women.
The publisher did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."
A Prolific Publishing History
Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in five dozen languages.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.
A number of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.
He has published in excess of 40 works altogether, encompassing a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.
Television and Literature
His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
