Eulogies Continue for Rob and Michele Reiner as Autopsy Reports Face a Security Hold.
Well beyond 14 days after the tragic deaths of esteemed film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community continue to honor the pair.
A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director
Posting on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he finally felt prepared to express about his profound loss.
"Adequate time has passed that I can finally articulate my loss into words," wrote Elwes, noting that his introductory moment with Reiner made him fall in love. "As we began sharing more moments together I realized this was someone I wanted in my life."
The actor uploaded never-before-seen clips from the film, adding that he cannot recall "any day without joy".
"This story is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Values that Rob valued immensely. Which is among the many reasons he was the best person to direct it," Elwes wrote.
He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, noting: "Claiming that they were a formidable pair would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I think of you." He concluded with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."
Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Friend and Collaborator
In a distinct tribute, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.
"Right away, I loved being with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was very funny and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese said.
Scorsese mentioned Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the lead role.
"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked beautifully with the cast, and he comprehended the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese added.
Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Withheld
In a new development, a Los Angeles court official ruled to bar the publication of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, after an appeal from the Los Angeles Police Department.
A judicial mandate placed a restriction on the cases to restrict the public release of "related notes, documents, files or images" connected to the ongoing investigation.
The Medical Examiner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the result of foul play, with a record citing the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".
Fallout and Commentary
In the wake of the killings, public figures shared different comments.
Ex-President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, making controversial claims that were broadly criticized by many individuals.
Podcaster Joe Rogan added his criticism to the detractors recently. Speaking on his program, Rogan characterized the statements as "disturbing" and remarked they revealed a worrisome deficiency of sympathy.
Rogan concluded by proposing that an aide should have acted when the choice to comment on the death was made.
