Jet Carrying Pete Hegseth Required to Land in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield
An aircraft transporting Pete Hegseth was required to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was found in the aircraft's cockpit window, per an official announcement which confirmed that Hegseth was safe.
"The plane landed following standard protocol and all passengers, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson commented in a public statement.
The secretary was coming back from a brief trip to Brussels during the flight.
This occurrence is not the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a top government figure has encountered equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane transporting Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was forced to return to Washington after suffering a technical issue.
