Top-ranked Sabalenka Wins Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Accolades.
World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second successive season.
The twenty-seven-year-old won four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – including retaining the US Open in September against Amanda Anisimova to claim her fourth career Grand Slam singles championship.
A Season of High Performance
Across the season, Sabalenka reached a tour-best nine finals, with losses coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.
The Belarusian also triumphed at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She spent the entire year as the top-ranked player, finishing 2025 on top of the rankings for a second straight year.
In July, she became the first athlete to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.
Record-Breaking Statistics
Sabalenka ended the season with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and collected a historic £11m in tournament winnings.
She garnered almost eighty percent of the votes submitted by global tennis journalists.
On 28 December, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match with the aim of "elevate women's tennis to a greater prominence".
