Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople stated on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his promoter had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”

His release from the hospital comes as the sports world shared its support for the champion in the aftermath of the heartbreaking incident.
